M. Night Shyamalan
From: Catherine M. Barsotti and Robert K. Johnston, Finding God in the Movies: 33 Films of Reel Faith, Baker Books: Grand Rapids, Michigan (2004), page 255:
M. Night Shyamalan is currently conisdered one of the truly great, young filmmakers. Newsweek called him "Hollywood's hottest new storyteller" and the "next Spielberg." Born in Madras, India, in 1970, Shyamalan was raised in an affluent suburb of Philadelphia and attended Catholic and Episcopal schools. Though both his parents were doctors, he became interested in filmmaking at age eight when he was given a Super-8 camera. By the time he was seventeen, he had made forty-five home movies.
