The Religious Affiliation of Famous Painter
Russian/Latvian painter Mark Rothko is regarded as one of the greatest and most popular artists in history. He was born in Daugavpils, Russia (now Dvinsk, Latvia) in 1903. He died in 1970.
Mark Rothko was Jewish. He is ranked #39 in the book The Jewish 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Jews of all Time (Citadel Press Book, 1994), written by Michael Shapiro.
