Man Ray is regarded as one of the greatest and most popular artists in modern history. He was a painter, an American Dada, a surrealist photographer and a film director. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1890. He died in 1976.
Man Ray was Jewish. He is ranked #92 in the book The Jewish 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Jews of all Time (Citadel Press Book, 1994), written by Michael Shapiro.
