Antony van Leeuwenhoek: "Religion: Calvinist. He was baptized and buried in Calvinist churches, and his second wife was the daughter of the Calvinist minister." [Source: The Galileo Project website, Rice University, Houston Texas (http://galileo.rice.edu/Catalog/NewFiles/leewnhok.html)]
From: Dan Graves, Scientists of Faith, Kregel Resources: Grand Rapids, MI (1996), page 71:
In his faith Leeuwenhoek was solidly Dutch Reformed. He often referred with reverence to the wonders God designed in making creatures small and great. His virtues were perseverance, simplicity, and stubbornness. He loved truth above any theory, even his own. He asked of his challengers only that they prove their points as he proved his.
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek's life glorified God in many ways, but perhaps most by showing us that there is far more under the sun than we had first suspected.
