Elizabeth Dole is a Republican U.S. Senator serving from North Carolina since 2003. Elizabeth Dole was well known as the wife of Sen. Bob Dole, who ran unsuccessfully for the office of U.S. President in 1996, but lost to incumbent President Bill Clinton. Had her husband won that election, Elizabeth Dole would have been the First Lady. Elizabeth Dole was also previously the director of the American Red Cross.
Elizabeth Dole is a Presbyterian.
