The Religious Affiliation of Singer
Marian Anderson was raised in a devout Baptist home. She attended church every Sunday at the Union Baptist Church, where her father was an un-paid officer. He was proud of his job there, where his duties included being in charge of the ushers. Anderson first learned to sing in church choirs.
