U.S. Senator from Kansas
John Ashcroft was a governor of the state of Missouri and also served as a U.S. Senator from that state. He later served as the U.S. Attorney General in the administration of Pres. George W. Bush from 2001 until 2005.
John Ashcroft was a devout member of the Assemblies of God, which is the country's largest Pentecostal denomination, and one of the world's largest Pentecostal Christian denominations.
