The Religious Affiliation of Comic Book Character
From: "Sara Pezzini" page on Wikipedia.org website (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sara_Pezzini; viewed 24 May 2007):
In the comics, some of Pezzini's allies include the Magdalena, Lara Croft, and Jackie Estacado. One crossover pitted her against Wolverine. In the comics recently, she has been through a grueling ordeal fighting off a giant demon (a false "god" summoned by a group of priests), in the midst of which left her partner, Jake McCarthy, wounded. Before losing consciousness he professed his love for her and told her that he always knew about her double life. He now remains in a coma, and Pezzini has had to deal with a nosy new partner, Detective Gleason, who has already discovered many of her secrets. Gleason saved her life and it had begun to look like they may become more than just partners, but their date was interrupted when Ian Nottingham abruptly returned to Sara's life...

From: "'Hulk' Hurd Believes in the 'Magdalena' !!!", posted 25 October 2005 on "Sneak Peek TV" website (http://www.sneakpeektv.com/id357.html; viewed 10 January 2006):
The Magdalena is a comic book heroine published by Top Cow Productions. She does not have her own on-going series but has had two limited series comics and has been featured in comics with The Darkness, Witchblade, Tomb Raider, The Angelus and Vampirella.
Pezzini was born November 18, 1970. Her major enemies are The Darkness aka Jackie Estacado, Kenneth Irons, Ian Nottingham. (Sara briefly dated Kenneth Irons before discovering his evil nature.) She is of above average intelligence and is very athletic. She has police training in hand-to-hand combat, weapons and tactics. Her favorite weapons include various firearms and the Witchblade.
As the current wielder of the Witchblade, Pezzini has been granted many unique abilities, including the power to heal herself, to create armor over her skin (as the Witchblade tends to rip away all of her clothes), to shoot energy blasts, and to extend razor sharp tendrils. She has yet to explore the full limits of the Witchblade, and thus does not know what other mystical abilities it possesses. When not overly active, the Witchblade can assume the form of a bracelet. This allows her to wear the weapon without drawing attention. The Witchblade is a sentient artifact. As such, she does not have complete control over its actions, and reactions...
Producers Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, chairman of Platinum Studios and Gale Anne "Hulk" Hurd, founder of Valhalla Motion Pictures will develop Top Cow's 'spiritually themed' comic book character "Magdalena" as a feature film.
...Comic creator and Top Cow Productions CEO, Marc "Witchblade" Silvestri will also executive produce.
"The need for faith in any form is what 'Magdalena' is about," said Silvestri...

Ok, so in recent films it's been apparent that Daredevil and Nightcrawler are Catholic...
So, who else out there could be fielded in a "Catholic" Heroclix team?
I know they're not out quite yet, but give yourself a month, and you can add at least Magdalena and Witchblade out of the Indy [independent publishers Heroclix] set. I don't know much about any of the others, but Sara [Witchblade] was raised Catholic, and Patience [the Magdalena] is the warrior for the Church. ;)
