The Religious Affiliation of Comic Book Character
of the New Warriors, Avengers
Firestar is the codename of Angelica Jones, a mutant with heat- and flame-based powers, including the power to fly.
Angelica Jones was raised in a Catholic family and was apparently a fairly conscientious Catholic, although overt references to her religious affiliation were rare. Firestar has not appeared regularly in Marvel comics in recent years, and it is unclear whether she is still regarded as a practicing Catholic.
From: "Who's Catholic in the Marvel Universe" forum discussion started 5 February 2005 on "HCRealms" website (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123637; viewed 22 December 2005):
I know a lot of characters are Jewish, so I was wondering who is officially Catholic?
Angelica Jones - Firestar - was Catholic at one point but not sure she's still practicing.

...Probably the best comic you could find to figure out who believes in a god or a god, or have deep faith in God or a god would be:
The Goddess uses the heroes' faith and belief in gods and such to recruit heroes.
Here are a list of Avengers who are "believers" so are recruited by the Goddess:
The so-called "non-believers" that the Goddess didn't choose:
Beast (although Beast claims to believe in a god, but Vision counters with "Obviously because your belief in a supreme being is not as deeply felt nor well known as the others.")
Quasar (which was stated in his own book)
